some thoughts on day 1

Watching the TV scenes of rescue workers dig out the
ruins of the fallen towers, I hope we in the U.S.
choose to responses that won't produce more rubble
fields and kill more innocent people.  Is this the
future we really want to create? 

If They have Their way, I fear, we see instead a
landscape reconfigured for new and terrifying
political purposes, as Enzian observes in GR. 

Dig deeper into the Pynchon reading, and I expect
we'll all gain wisdom to help understand this tragedy
and the politics behind it.

I included you in my prayers this morning, MalignD,
along with the rest of the friends and family in
Manhattan who also suffer and grieve and rage.
