MDMD: Continue? (was sea voyages & insanity)

Hello folks,
I'd like to get a sense of when we'd like to continue with the read. I know
it may seem like a trivial pursuit in light of the week's events. But
continuing may offer a welcome distraction.
Tech note: There seems to be a delay in my messages by as much as two days.
So if this is not Thurs. when you all receive this, my apologies.

Subject: Re: Sea Voyages & Insanity
I'm of two minds on this, both of which may or may not
have something to do with the fact that I'm scheduled
to host Chapters 2 and 3 in the coming week. So let
me just note in that regard, while I'm eager to get to
it, I'm also way behind in comparison to where I've
been with days to go before other hosting stints, and
I'm not likely to have the time to catch up over the
weekend. I'll get to everything by week's end, but
it'll be even more hectic than usual, is all ...
I do not mind a delay, and will certainly hold off if
that seems the consensus here, but we've an epic
project ahead of us, one which was off to a (quite
literally) flying start (thos snowballs), and which
has now been all but brought to a (quite tragically)
flying halt (the events of the past day or so). But
my concern is, what will we do with that time? Note
what we've done with already ...
On the one hand, what I'm reading as genuine concern
for people we might well know only via electrons
scanning the surface of a phosphorescent screen, on
the other, anything from astute commentary to flaring
hostilities. Okay, well, the usual, except, even more
so than ever, waht we're ostensibly here for, i.e.,
genuine concern for someone we know only via ink on
the surface of paper, and anything from astute
commentary thereupon to flaring hostilities thereover.
Well ...
Well, my take on this is, while I'm not one for
"business as usual" in the wake of such catastrophic
events--and, depsite not owning a car, much less
having a driver's license (I just don't need the
hassle or the expense), I'm angry enough about
"business as unusual" in the form of price gouging
that I hope to stop off at a few gas stations along my
way and voice my feeble protest (and hopefully incite
something more effective on the part of paying
customers)--I'm also for not succumbing to the terror
in terrorism, in going about one's honest, harmless,
necessary pursuits in the face of such atrocities.
Retaliation is one thing, but I think most of us would
agree that capitulation is out of the question ...
Anyway, unless there's a strong, discernable, and
resaonable sentiment otherwise, I plan on starting in
on Chs. 2 & 3 in the coming week, though I might not
kick in right at the stroke of midnight Sunday night,
and I'd encourage Judy, if she's agreeable and up to
it, to continue her hostessing with the mostessing as
well. I'll certainly wait for her to pass the baton,
at least ...
