Jewish students tell Sharon "your army is army of terror"

Occupied Jerusalem: 11 September, 2001 (IAP News)- 
Some seventy Israeli high school students have written to Israeli Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon, complaining that the Israel army is a
terrorist army that destroy civilian homes and murders and
terrorizes men, women and children.

According to the Israeli website posting from Bat Shalom's
e-mail newsletter - batshalo at netvision.net.il - (website:
http://www.batshalom.org/1.htm) the students described the
Israeli army rampage against Palestinians in the West Bank as
"aggressive and racist."

"We strongly resist Israel's pounding of human rights. Land
expropriation, arrests, executions without a trail, house
demolition, closure, torture, and the prevention of health care
are only some of the crimes the state of Israel carries out in
blunt violation of international conventions it has ratified."
The students further stated in their letter that " these actions
are not only illegitimate; they don't even achieve their stated
goal-increasing the citizens' personal safety. Such safety will
be achieved only through a just peace agreement between Israel
and the Palestinian people."

"Therefore we will obey our conscience and refuse to take part
in acts of oppression against he Palestinian people, acts that
should properly be called TERRIST actions. We call upon persons
our age, conscripts, soldiers in the standing army, and reserve
service soldiers to do the same."
