Then I think I misunderstood you.  It is not that we (whoever you might
chose to include in that "we", there) should do nothing in response to
murder, it is that we should model our response on that of Israel when
faced with terrorists who seem to make very few rationally actionable
demands but only vent their un-assuageable grievances. Do you mean the
recent Israeli policy of preemptive-retaliation against leading
individuals rather than broadly based retaliation against their
followers? 

I'm not sure what you might mean.  If you aren't sure either, I applaud
your doubt.  It seems to me that under these circumstances doubt is the
hallmark of a good heart. Doubt is creative. Doubt is humane. Only
those who doubt can be just.
