Howdy
We do not have an extradition treaty with the Taliban. Taking the
course recommended here would result, at best, in trials run by the
regime that shelters his organization now. This would be an
exceedingly slim reed for us to grasp, no?
Last week's news was full of the opening day of the trial under the
Taliban of eight westerners accused of proselytizing to Muslims, and an
additional number af Afghanis accused of aiding them. These last, at
least, are likely to be dealt with very harshly. The westerners are
now, in effect, hostages.
