Actually, you might be wrong. While the U.S. of A. did support bin Laden
operations while he was recruiting volunteers in Peshawar back in the 80s,
the Base is financed with funds from a number of legal sources, e.g.
- a buliding-contractor Quadrat operating in Sudan;
- a transportation firm Bareba operating in Sudan;
- Al Hijra - a contractor, which built Khartoum to Port Sudan freeway;
- a number of farms in Sudan and Kenya;
- diamond mining enterprise in Tanzania,
not to mention profits from smuggling dope. Bin Laden and his cronies from
Arab League, Islamic Legion and Islamic Development Bank are so well off
they could easily spend 4 million bucks on each of several mammoths of
mosques in France (e.g. in Lyon), while their Arab compatriots live on
social security provided by the French government.
