Admin Note:
I've been noticing a lot of overlong commentary articles posted to this
list, among them those redistributed from other mailing lists and
reproduced from various web sites. Some of these are long enough
(> 10KB) to require approval before going on the list. This is in
addition to images that take up an extraordinary amount of space and are
not allowed on the list by policy.
Considering that pretty much all of these that get forwarded to the list
are available somewhere on the web, I'm not putting them out on the
list. Normally I send a note to the submitter that their message was
rejected, but the volume has gotten to the point where that's no longer
possible. So I urge everyone to excercise some restraint in not
cluttering up the list with every interesting opinion they come across.
You're always welcome to provide a short summary and/or a URL if you feel
it's worth drawing attention to.
While we're at it, may I also suggest that a) people adjust their mailer
settings so they don't send out html (along with plain text) that
doubles the size of their messages and clogs the digests and b) edit the
quoted messages when replying instead of appending 4 pages to say ditto.
Thanks,
Murthy
