I was actually attempting to object to the use of that much-abused-of-late
bit of terminology "jingoist", which I find reactionary and pejorative (not
to mention ugly: it doesn't sound anything near it's meaning, and reminds me
of the phrase: "the dingo ate your baby!"). By exaggerating the word
through augmentation, I'd hoped to convey my opinion of its use. I can see
how my comment may have been misconstrued as grammatical commentary, but I
see no reason to apologize for that. Maybe if I had written
"jingoisticafragicalicious" I would not have been understood too quickly. I
do admit to needing an editor sometimes.
Incidentally, does anybody know what song it is that has the unsettling
refrain "ohhh by jin-go"?
