Pynchon and the current situation

Oddly the assumption that nothing of great importance happened before the Sixties was not so uncommon a one while the events of that momentous decade still burned hot and shone bright. Preposterous as it now seems.

The world had been writ anew Not a few who should have known better tried to think so. Wanted so to believe. But Pynchon???
