I'm no military strategist but didn't the Germans get their arses handed to 
them by the Russians during WWII when they became bogged down in the snow? 
 And didn't Napoleon have to beat it all the way back to gay Paris after 
finding that his huge army was useless to him on snow-laden tundra?
