By all means, with my blessing. I like the phrase so much I think I'll
repeat it myself. A little disinformation is good for keeping your defenses
up. .

I do also. My stated wish here for the terrorists (those not already dead)
was partly rhetorical and partly . . .well I'm reminded of something in
Jonathan Franzen's new novel "The Corrections." A woman whom Enid meets on
the cruise has recently suffered the loss of her daughter at the hands of a
sadistic murdering monster who is about to be executed. The woman of course
abhors capital punishment.
" . . .. And so she finally told herself the truth: she wanted Khellye
Withers dead.
"She wanter him dead despite her recent interview with the Philadelphia
Inquirer in which she avowed that killing someones else's child wouldn't
bring back her own. She wanted him dead despite the religious fervor with
with her M.D./Ph.D. had forbidden her to interpret Jordan's death
religiously--for example, as a divine judgement on their own liberal
politics or liberal parenting or senseless affluence. She wanted him dead
despite believing that Jordan's death had been a random tragedy and that
redemption lay not in vengenance but in reducing the incidence of random
tragedies nationwide. She wanted him dead despite imagining a society that
provided jobs at a decent wage for young men like him (so that he would not
have to bind the wrists . . . [and so on, but you get the idea]"
The above said however. I must add that the need to exact death-vengeance on
a guilty someone or many guilty someones for the 6000 plus deaths inflicted
in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania is very very low on my present
prioty list. There are so many more important things to attend to.
