The question that come to mind is WHY is he flouting political correctness
and HOW  we readers find ourselves responding. Do we feel we are being
admonished against the misuse of a new kind of technology of control?
Language reform IS a technology of control Or (remember this is Pynchon) do
we have here more of that sado-anarchism business Bloom was talking about?
Pynchon CAN seem downright CRUEL (not particularly here but elsewhere) in
handling "minorities."
