The point I am somehow trying to make--really, now is that patronizong tone
necessary?--is that your assessment of the ideological contamination of the
Times and Post ignored their responses to the two most important political
stories of the twentieth century.

I would also like to somehow try to make the point that those papers and
many other newsrooms are staffed with professional reporters and editors who
operate in an intensely competitive news environment and are responsible to
rigorous ethical standards, unlike the tendentiously agendaed single-issue
papers and websites that you seem to be celebrating. When journalism bends
its shoulder to The Cause--whatever that cause is--it's not journalism any
more. It's pamphleteering.
