By "jumping point" I mean a place to launch an argument pro or con.  Plato's 
influence on western thought (and on Chritianity especially) is 
foundational.  Exactly what argument to launch?  That was MY question.  I am 
by no means a scholar on Plato, if that's what you wanted to hear.
