MDDM: Chapter 46 Summary Part One

Something new to start chapter 46.

"When they may, they Drink."

With taxes due... When I may... I drink too.  But where in TRP's novels do
"They" not drink, when they may?

"finding it impossible to look out into --that--"

-that- can be a lot of things...  America of the future (possibly) for one.

It seems a bit odd to me that they want to put off the work of the West
Line. Winter vacation over and only 12 miles in, and already they are
wishing for the cloudy nights.  Anyone an opinion on this?  Is it just fear
of what they will find in the West?

The camp becomes a truckstop, men stumbling back from tavern, or others on
their way stop at the camp - sometimes for the night - leaving Mason to
wonder if a French Agent may stop by... (nothing new)

Iron is plentiful in the region (as Dixon knows) and results in a ton of
hits during a search... Dixon is not the only one to battle the iron.
Pennsylvania is attempting to rid it from their streams...
