Sorry, this makes little sense to me. While it's true that the US is
mainly protestant, not catholic, this doesn't make P's catholic
upbringing less important than his protestant family tree. 

I think Paul's post on this was quite insightful. 

Why do you think so little has been written about P's mother and her
family? 
Critical habit perhaps?
