"According to A. Hughlett Mason's transcription of 
The Journal of Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon
(Philadelphia: American Philosophical Society, 1969),
Mason writes 'Youghiogeny' as 'Yochio Geni.'  So, the
spelling comes straight from the horse's mouth (or 
pen)."
