MDDM World-as-text

(correcting a little typo)

Until experience is verbalized or otherwise
translated into "text", the world is not text,
world-as-text is a fiction that's useful for
criticism, but it doesn't get you very far in
experiencing the world as it exists, most of which
requires no text or verbalization whatsoever -- it's a
crippling metaphor, one that removes the subject from
experience, which mediates experience as text, a pale
imitation.
