And your message (below, and low indeed) is intended
to demonstrate how this discussion should proceed
instead? Thanks for the object lesson.

As bandwraith sez, what goes around, comes around.

In your own way, Otto, despite the good material you
share here at times, you're as bad as fq or anybody
else when it comes to telling other people to stop
what you yourself continue to do.

Maybe you can deconstruct that hypocrisy into a
charming "PoMo" construct? (I continue to emphasize
the fact that most of what gets dished out here under
the "PoMo" brand is a brain-dead approximation of
cliches stolen from other, more original and
insightful thinkers -- gratuitous name-dropping that
would appear to attempt to establish authority and
discredit the statements of others -- a very cheesy,
intellectual version of the holier-than-thou attitude
that you rail against continually.)

As you noted the other day, this is not a moderated
list, and I observe that you aren't the moderator.

Since you seem to have thoughts on the matter, how do
you think the D & G material that Dave pointed to
relates to the M&D chapter at hand?

Listening,
Doug

P.S.The practice of giving thanks to the spirit of the
animal or plant taken for sustenance, or otherwise, is
ancient, and respected by all but recent generations
of theorists who theorize that man is the king of
creation and entitled to whatever he chooses to take,
spoil, kill.
