Mr T:

Except for nearly 300 lurkers (you could look it up), not all of whom care
for (so they tell me offlist) the word games that predominate so much of
the time these days.
Sorry if I hurt anybody's feelings. Then again, if the shoe fits, wear it.
If the shoe doesn't fit, do something else with the shoe. I'm tired of
seeing Pynchon twisted into a neo-con (or worse) pretzel by mealy-mouthed
wanna-be literary theorists eager to make my favorite author into a
supporter of multinational corporations and the Bush
war-oneverybody-who-doesn'-kiss-US-butt-today (last year doesn't count,
what have they done for US lately).
Ask Otto why Mr. St. Clair got involved in the discussion. Or perhaps
you'd care to see some of the crank email Otto's been sending me, too,
offlist.
