How would you know that?  The problem with your discussions of "misquoting"
is that you miss so much of the nuance of idiomatic English in the posts
when they come around the first time.  Otherwise, you couldn't have called
Alex Cockburn's reply to you "polite" -- although I guess it was "polite"
enough, if not flattering.   There are many polite ways to call somebody a
fool.
