This is one way my post count goes up, of course.

FYI, I'm working all this week on the final draft of a book that's due at
the publisher's next Monday.  This means I'm toggling back and forth
between Word and email, gathering images and other elements contributed by
an editorial team working in several different geographic locations,
assembling them into one document.  So, it's easy to take a moment or two
to answer a P-list message that addresses me, a nice little break from the
deadline-driven workflow -- which is, by the way, my usual working
situation, online all day, collaborating with other members of an editorial
team by email and on the Web.
