We're not all in agreement on that point. Several here say that a careful
reading of the words, the grammar and the context indeed depict and inscribe
a scene of violence. What you see as reluctance, others see as artistic
depiction. From the latter perspective, it's like looking at one of those 3D
pictures. If you look at them with a conventional gaze they are reluctant to
offer you a clear depiction, but if you let your eyes go out of focus and
look through the picture, rather than just at the surface, a depiction of a
three dimensional image comes leaping out at you.
