You Sir, and I must understand one another, Sir, and that too without
delay. I come to Bleeding Heart List to read about Mr. Thomas R.
Pynchon; you insist on speculating about the apparent motives and
actions of Mr. Jules Siegel; you tell us that you purchased Lineland and
that it directed you here; that parties to the party spoiled must
negotiate and come to some agreement. And about this agreement you tell
us you have no business interest, tending to beget in me an
uncomfortable feeling toward Mr. Jules Siegel of Mexico, a man none of
us have ever met, but a man with obvious business interest in the
agreement you thoughtlessly tender--a sort of connexion, Sir, which is
an intimate and confidential one in the highest degree. I demand of you
to speak out and tell us what your business, your interest, Sir, is in
these affairs, Sir. We demand that you tell us what business you have in
this business and whether we shall be in all respects safe when we
freely express our opinions on these matters here on Bleeding Heart List
or if you, Sir, will be in the business or your family lawyer will be,
retained and authorized by you, in the business of taking legal action
or sending the INS to our homes?
