Sorry, I really am! I wasn't expecting to rouse him to this level. But to
summarize:  Jules wrote me, to tell me that he was unhappy with the way I
worded my link back to his site. (I poked a bit of fun at his comments
soliciting pornographic presents.) Jules was so unhappy, in fact, that he
felt the need to take down his site entirely, replacing it with an open
letter alerting the world to my mendacity. In an open letter I posted to the
P-List -- because he did refer to the Pynchon List, and his own letter was
posted online, and I thought there might be some amusement value -- I told
him that I would change the wording if he would replace his article online.
He declined, preferring to further husband the tempest in his teapot. I
removed the offending link entirely, and that's that, as far as I'm
concerned.
