Nor mine, either.  And this comes nowhere near the
problem of, say, the anti-semitism(s) of T.S. Eliot,
Louis-Ferdinand Celine, Paul De Man, Edgar Degas ...
for example.  But we really shouldn't leave these
things unremarked, even as, esp. as, we go on and
read, view, respect, love, whatever, their works
nonetheless.  And note that the "multicultural" make-
up of that Fellowship of the Ring doesn't exactly
mitigate the racial problematics of that light/dark,
white/black trope which Tolkien does indeed, and as
per custom (folkloric, colonial), employ.  Still a
buncha white guys, height, pointy ears (notice that
Peter Jackson's elves are essentially Vulcans) and
hairy feet aside ...
