I had forgotten that it was Senator Edward Kennedy, in an
attempt to deride Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI)
who first labeled it "Star War's"- Boy, did that ever backfire.

The fact that Reagan had already appropriated "Evil Empire" from
the Lucas films made the term seem all the more natural, and
Reagan used it to his advantage.
