arrive pretty late in the year here, even in Chicago. 
The Quiet American did open in limited release
(usually, NY & LA) in late November, but, again, we're
fairly far down the pipeline as far as yr art,
independent, foreign, whatever films go.  But I'd
forgotten the earlier adaptation (1958) ...
