Keep in mind, Morris was citing a few words out of a 
perfectly reasonable sentence out of a perfectly
reasonable comment comment of Michael Moorcock's, who
does know more than a little himself about the
workings of fantasy literature.  If he has any further
problems, he can always take it up with Moorcock
himslef, who's apparently eminently approachable ...
