My point was that the description of the "linguo-beccal Fricatives" and
"spray" (375.19) fit Daffy rather than Donald. And that prior evidence - eg.
the direct references to old Walt glorifying the war (_GR_ 135.2) and to
racism in his depictions of Japanese pilots (680.27) - plus happier
allusions elsewhere to Porky Pig, the Road Runner and so forth, betrays a
distinct anti-Disney mindset in Pynchon's work, so that a fun reference to
Donald Duck would be quite unlikely, and noteworthy, perhaps indicating a
shift or mellowing in his critical perspective on The Frozen One.

I did certainly take on board your connection between the made-up Galuppi
opera and Daisy e Donald in my post, so wasn't positing an either/or or
criticising you, merely trying to engage with the text and see what others
thought about it. Sorry to have intruded.
