The foray into 18th Century London -
the journeys through the streets with the lovely old names - the sedan
chairs - the handsome carriages - the linkmen with their torches at
night in
the dark narrow back streets...
The RS is solidly Anglican. No kidding! And that means that they will
kill all the infidels they can, with the sword and the pen, like the
Irish Catholics were murdered, their land taken. The Presbyterians
didn't fare too good after a while, they lost the land too. And what of
the German sectarians? They seem to have done fairly well in America. In
Pennsylvania anyway. No wonder everyone in the carriage is a lawyer.
Our Revd. is to be chaplain to Presbyterians, German Sectarians, Irish
Roman Catholics. Oh my! And these won't be astronomers, but men and
women who do know something about land or how it can be divided. The
Germans know how to buy it and how to keep it, the Presbyterians know
how to take it by force and how it can be taken away by force and the
poor Irish don't know anything at all about it, well, all for me and
none for you. That's what happened to the Irish Roman Catholics under
the Penal Laws and war, war, war. Tough congregation. If they don't kill
him it will be a miracle.
