What I really wanted to talk about was
metaphor and its use and abuse as the
leading edge of consciousness into uncharted
regions, as for example in ch.25 with
Mas 'n Dix trying to get some purchase
on their future in America. But in so doing
I rediscovered Lakoff and his perspective
on Desert Storm and now post-9/11 USA.

I know Monroe and I think Polack have
pointed to Lakoff (George and Ms.?) here
before, don't recall anyone else doing so
(may have missed it)- but I don't think he
had published the post-9/11 piece yet.
