Front Cover

While browsing at the local Borders, I happened to see a coffee-table book 
called _Front Cover: Great Book Jacket and Cover Design_ by Alan Powers 
(published by Mitchell Beazley) The book's cover shows thumbnails of several 
book covers, including the original V cover.  The book includes the original 
GR cover as well, and describes GR (the book, not the cover, I think) as 
"[...] a reflection on the collapse of the Newtonian world view with its 
assumption of order and rationality, and the crisis that expanding 
technology has generated in a world which can no longer adapt to sustain 
it."
