And for good reason. Again, I'm asking, just what is
the issue here? None of you beyond Doug have any
solid information on this whatsoever, whereas Doug,
having been tipped off by a typically reliable source
(John Krafft), has the actual article in hand, plus a
couple of approximate translations now.

I'll likely have it shortly myself, courtesy of Doug
followed by two or three more independent
translations. And I'll be happy to send along a copy
of the article once I have it to anyone who'd like to
send me an address they can recieve it at. Will let
you all know ...

Maybe I'll even go to the trouble to get a print
copy--who knows what other, er, "articles" might be in
there? Someone give me month, issue number, whatever,
and I'll get right on it. If friends can bring in
those schoolgirl (kogal) and bondage and schoolgirls
in bondage magazines, I can surely get internationally
published mainstream softcore ...

But, again, would there be this much hassle would it
have been John Krafft himself posting the reference,
obtaining a translation, even? Or jbor? Or anyone
else, for that matter? And, if this issue has indeed
been out for some time now, and, esp., seeing as how
its even filtered to us by now, why then hasn't
Pynchon disavowed it, if indeed the remarks aren't
his, or were made "off the record"? But jbor's kindly
offered to do the legwork on all this for us, right?
So ...

Point is, you're being assholes about this 'cos it's
Doug who brought it up. Any of the rest of you would
have found that article, you'd have yr chests puffed
out awaiting the merit badge pinning. Many, many
questions raised so far without any of you even
appearing to attempt to find answers to them ...

Right now, yr questions seem to be, did Pynchon say
any of this? If so, was it published with his assent?
How adequate are the translations we've seen so far?
What WAS said, if anything? Might it be available in
the original English? Et soforthiam ...

And now, three days into Pt. II of M&D and yet to have
posted anything I've wanted to post on the novel, plus
a few other items of more immediate interest, I'm
getting even crankier than usual. Do not any more of
my, our time or storage capacity until you've done yr
homework, kids ...
