One of Newton's laws of motion? The second law of thermodynamics?
Don't think I haven't tried... But I can't seem to get the other two
interdictions which are "woven into" the "mirthful Cloud of tartan
edg'd Emerald Green and luminous Coral taffeta," to fit in with
the more obvious "No Free Kisses." Although, the "mirthful Cloud"
sounds a hopeful note, a hint that the librettist and the composer
of this opera are of like mind- that it might be a comedy-I suppose
it could be a dark comedy.
"Sailor Beware" and "Be Quick about it," like "No Free Kisses, seem
also to be referring to universals woven into and determining the
fabric of reality. With them in mind, even if one were at the bottom
of a fold, it might be possible through calculation "to determine warp
woof, or pattern anywhere else." But that "Sailor Beware" line, might
be implying that Eigenvalue's desire "to at least see" from the top
of a wave could be perilous at best. "Be Quick about it"suggests
another wave is on the way, and any solution to this function is
temporary. Stormy weather.
"Carpenter's Wharf" has a familiar ring to it, does it not, sailors
and the street, geniuses in wood, combining here to provide and
share a little shelter from the storm, if only a gothic outhouse, basic and
bleak? Probably referring to Planck's resolution of the 'ultra-violet
catastophe' inherent in the analogue analysis of the black body
body phenomenon, by proposing the quantum. Note the tint of
Ben's lenses has changed from Orchid to Nocturnal Blue. Small
comfort, very small, and of course, the basis of Heisenberg's
discovery, the eponymous interdiction.
