(1) overrated: tiefer hängen!
(2) does jules siegel really believe that the late 1960s' acid-wave was
initiated by the us-government to "destroy all the baby-boomers" and that
pynchon took part in it on the establishment's side and that one can find
traces of this in "gravity's rainbow"?! sad if it wouldn't be so funny ...
seinfeld: "how do you know?" kramer (with wild grimace): "from the
alternative media! jerry, there you get to know the truth ..." & don't get
me started on that 'guardian' ...
(3) here in hamburg they show it in a nice little inner-city cinema that has
about 100 seats. the fellow working there, who was so friendly to give me
for free the movie poster which now fits perfectly into my new balcony
room, told me that the whole week there were about 50 people in each of the
performances. "this is not much but then again not too bad taken the fact
that it's a docu about an author not really known here", as he went on.
tonight at 8.30 they show it for the last time. so if you're in town and
ain't got nothing better to do, check out the "3001" at the sternschanze.
(4) these days thomas pynchon, in his physical appearance, seems to look quite
a bit like lou reed. well, this fits now better than ever: "i'm just an
average guy ..."
back to lurking: kai frederik (reading cioran)
