I'm sorry to hear you sound so cynical, Paul.
But, you do make me laugh. And I do hope you find a way to enter the
Pynchon discussion in a positive, constructive way one of these days.
And I do love you, even if I don't know you. I believe there is something
lovable in each human being. Also, I know people who know you and who have
assured me that you are in fact a warm, decent human being, and I believe
them when they tell me that. I'm tired of the bickering and insults, so I'm
taking a different tack, trying to keep the focus on Pynchon and on a
friendly collegial atmosphere, and I invite you to do the same - or not, as
you wish. No matter how you choose to respond, I hope you get what makes
you happy.
