I fear MalignD is right.  We are not collectively up to Moby Dick, sad to 
say, but self-evident, I fear.  _Pale Fire_ or any other Nabakov book would 
be great, but our challenge would then to make it Pynchon-relevant.  _Pale 
Fire_ might be Nabakov's most difficult text.  Very slow in its own right.  
What about _Bend Sinister_?  We needn't be too self-observant re. Pynchon.  
Connections may occur as they will.
