Vineland mediocre????

MalignD wrote that Vineland is a mediocre book.

I take major exception to that.  It is probably the most unappreciated
book in the Pynchon cannon and that, if for no ther reason, should make
it the next book under the microscope.  

If people want to read Merman Helville, let them start or join a
melville-l.
