What I love about this entire exchange, as well, is the sense of its
stemming from a whole LSD- or maijuana-induced conversation between two
people awed at the prospect of having a "little universe" within your
fingernail, a la Donald Sutherland and Tom Hulce in _Animal House_. Of
course, the whole concept is dealt with more seriously in Carl Sagan's _The
Dragons of Eden_.
