I've supported my interpretation of  Pynchon's portrayals of Washington and
Gershom with substantial evidence from the text, too.  Why you insist that
you hold the final and definitive interpretation to a text that Pynchon has
left ambiguous and open to multiple interpretations is difficult to
understand, but that's OK, so much of life remains a mystery.
