Incidently I heard a republican spokeswoman say on tv last evening that
the reason Bush and Cheney business affairs are getting increasing
attention is because the American press is tired of reporting Bush's 75
percent approval ratings. 

That would be a mile TOO simplistic but there is no doubt some truth to
it. The collapses of Enron, WorldCom, etc. were important too. 

Notice how in the wishy washy Washington Post article both possibly
condemnatory and and possibly exculpatory information are included. The
alternaive press could have done a sexier job of it.
