There's a lot of info those references to support any number of assertions
about Washington, slavery, patriarchy, liberty, etc. I guess if I was only
interested in "winning" an argument (a concept that seems rather vacant of
meaning, in the final analysis), I'd be more careful only to pass along
stuff that supports a narrow argument, but instead, if you'll set aside the
blinders when you read what I post, you'll see that I pretty consistently
offer up ideas and materials that open up the discussion to multiple points
of view, even as I suggest (good word, Dave) that one view may be more
plausible than another.  I'm  not sure why you and a couple of other people
made such an effort to rewrite this recent discussion as some sort of prize
fight, that's certainly not how I saw it from this end, but I forgive you
for putting those vile images out there and hope you won't feel it
necessary to do so again in the future.  But, as always, please do as you
will in this unmoderated forum.
