"Mussolini was the least interested in committing atrocities.
An armchair racist, he never introduced concentration camps
or genocide and did not liquidate rivals - because they were
non-existent.There was none of the Third Reich's anti-intellectualism.
South of Rome, malaria and illiteracy were targeted by the reformist
regime and, yes, the trains were said to run on time - a piece of
propaganda, not folklore."

"he did not liquidate rivals"?? yeah right; go tell matteoti. go tell the italian socialists and
communists. and all the italians just loved him. mussolini's rivals
were just non-existent. damn right. they
ceased to exist, at some point. one day, gramsci just died in his bed.
"an armchair racist", he was "the least interested in committing
atrocities, never introduced concentration camps". i guess using gas bombs on the
ethiopians was alright, introducing concentration camps over there
was cool too, the kinds of atrocities that were ok back then, i mean even the society of nations couldn't
care less about the "retarded tribes of ethiopia", after all. no
anti-intellectualism, well when you have d'annunzio and the futurists
on your side you don't really need that now do you.
and trains ran on time. now that's good. well i wish mussolini would only come back.
we could have his trains and hitler's autobahns and everything would
be alright.
"franco, a pipe-and-slippers fascist"??
"the right has saved europe from the right"??
don't know buzo or bosworth, but i already like both of them. well i
definitely like buzo. his review just made my day.
