Thanks for clearing that up, Paul. You demonstrate an uncanny ability to
cut through the ambiguity of Pynchon's text,  discern his authorial
intentions, and  judge which passages deserve what level of discussion.

Maybe from here on out you could take the lead in providing notes,
commentaries, reference materials, etc. for the discussion, instead of
tagging along and whining about what others say?  Or not, as you please.
