Having only cursorily read the Coe paper (and just
about out the door for the day), my first impression
has been, he jumps the gun on a number of points,
indeed either not quite recognizing or summarily
disregarding other, perhaps more convincing--or, at
any rate, less religiously committed--possibilities.
Having only cursorily read yr comments, I haven't
disagreed with either yet, at any rate ...
