     Greetings. Glad to hear , that Tarkovsky's works are admired. "Stalker" 
isn't his only film , which may be mentioned in comparison with "GR". What 
about "Solaris" , for example? And "Andrey Roublev" may in some ways be 
compared to "M&D" with its rather rough showing of some facts from Russian 
history. By the way , "Stalker" and "Solaris" are screen adaptations of writers 
with cult status in USSR (Strugatsky brothers and S. Lem).And special note for 
Signorina Lacorte : my favourite film by Tarkovsky , "Nostalghia" was made in 
Italy.
