Anyone mention yet that Lady Godiva, Coventry's most famous citizen, rode naked
in protest against unfair taxation, a central gripe of the colonists against the
Crown.  Next most famous Coventry citizen would be Peeping Tom, last name
unrecorded but what if it was Pynchon. Am reminded that  Proust's narrator
peeped  unmercifully on Mlle Vinteuil and her friend  and also the Baron du
Charlus  Novelists are natural born voyeurs.

Conventry was heavily bombed in the Battle of Britain.  (the blitz)
