Animal Juxtaposition;
    Me thinx that TRP would find abundant material in Wolfram's "New Science" worthy of lampooning. He might start with the author's name, combining animals with different "natures" into a single name. Then maybe a little research into the various mythologies associated with both animals and how they may inspire some tangential narrative.
    Pynchon's parodies of science (technology in GR, the "Age of Reason" in M&D, etc.) display a keen sense of science's abundant limitations. These frequently present as observation masquerading as understanding within the scientific community. My own criticism of Wolfram's work would make the same accusation. His observations are so compelling, that one very easily dismisses the issue of whether or not his observations promote any novel or useful understanding of "how?", or "why?". It has been my impression that it is at this fundamental level that Pynchon usually penetrates and exposes the flawed interpretation of observation, as well as the self-serving interests of "Big Science".
                               in my humble opinion,
                               Ruud
