No one said politics were verboten, but the general topic is far too open to 
seriously be considered Pynchon-related unless one points to a direct 
connection with something in his books.  Otherwise nothing should be 
considered "NP."

Can't you spare the list and just go to the sources Doug repeatedly uses on 
your own?  Or maybe you and Doug can be private pen-pals...

... but then Doug's pathological need to be paid attention to, his fantasy 
about having something important to contribute to this list, his underlying 
desire to be publicly spanked, would be denied.
